PCDL Library
Privacy Policy
Last updated 17 September 2026
This policy covers the interactive library at interactive.pcdl.co, where you read SCRIPTEX and the monthly PCDL e-magazines. It explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you can change your mind or delete it.
Who we are
The library is published by the Pastor Chris Digital Library (“PCDL”, “we”, “us”). Your PCDL account is the same account you use on pcdl.co and in the PCDL apps, so the PCDL Privacy Policy also applies to your account details. Where this page is more specific about the library, this page applies.
Questions or requests: support@pcdl.co.
What we collect and why
You can read every title without an account. We only collect more if you sign in, and we only measure how the library is used if you say yes to analytics.
If you create a PCDL account
Your first name, username, email address, password and, if you add it, your phone number. These are sent to PCDL to create your account. The library does not keep its own copy of your password.
If you sign in with KingsChat
When you open the library from KingsChat, or choose to sign in with KingsChat, KingsChat gives us a one-time sign-in code. If KingsChat puts the code in the page address, we remove it before the page loads. Our server then uses it once to get your PCDL session from KingsChat and PCDL. The code is never written to our own logs or sent to analytics. We receive your name, your KingsChat username and display name, and your profile picture.
We use this only to sign you in and to show who is signed in. We never share data we receive from KingsChat with third parties, and we never use it for any other purpose.
While you are signed in
- Your session is stored in this browser so you stay signed in. Signing out removes it.
- Your library: reading progress, the stars you earn for finishing a title, bookmarks, highlights and the notes you write. These are saved to PCDL’s servers against your account so they follow you between devices. They are private to you. Nobody else can see them, and they are not published anywhere.
Poll answers
When an e-magazine includes a reader poll, we store the option you choose. It is stored against your account if you are signed in. If you are signed out, it is stored against a random identifier this browser keeps, which is not linked to you. Only the combined totals are shown to readers.
Kept only on this device
Your answers to a chapter’s reflection questions, the last page you reached in each title, whether you have seen the swipe hint, and your analytics choice. These stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
Analytics, only if you say yes
If you agree, we use Google Analytics to understand which titles and chapters are read and how the library performs. Nothing is loaded from Google and nothing is sent until you say yes. It records:
- the pages and chapters you view
- interactions such as revealing a quiz answer, solving a word search or sharing a quote
- page-load performance
- your device and browser type, and an approximate location that Google works out from your IP address
We do not send your name, email address, account details or anything received from KingsChat to Google Analytics. Page addresses are sent without their query strings. Advertising features, remarketing and Google signals are switched off. Analytics cookies are set only after you agree, and only on this site.
Server logs
Like any website, our hosting provider records standard request information, such as your IP address, browser and the page requested. This is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
- We don’t show ads, and we don’t use advertising or remarketing tags.
- We don’t fingerprint your device or track you across other websites.
- We don’t use your camera, microphone, location, contacts or notifications.
- No purchases are made in the library, so we collect no payment details here.
Who handles your data
- PCDL stores your account and your library on its own servers.
- KingsChat is involved only when you open the library from KingsChat or sign in with KingsChat.
- Google Analytics is used only if you agree to analytics.
- Netlify hosts the site and keeps its standard server logs.
If you share a quote to X or through your device’s share menu, what you share goes to that service and is covered by its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Your library and poll answers are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
- Your account is kept while it exists. The PCDL Privacy Policy explains the limited records PCDL may still keep after an account is closed, for example where the law requires it for tax or fraud prevention.
- Analytics data is kept for our Google Analytics property’s retention period, which is no longer than 14 months. It is then deleted automatically.
- Data on this device stays until you sign out, clear your browser data, or use “Clear data on this device” on the delete account page.
Your choices
Change your analytics choice
You can withdraw consent at any time, and it is as easy as giving it. Turning analytics off stops measurement straight away and removes the analytics cookies.

Checking…
Delete your data or your account
You can do this yourself, inside the library, with no need to email anyone. Go to Delete account (also at https://interactive.pcdl.co/account/delete). You can delete just your library data (progress, stars, bookmarks, highlights, notes and poll answers) and keep your account. Or you can delete your whole PCDL account.
Deleting is permanent. The data is erased, not hidden. Because the account is shared, deleting it also closes it on pcdl.co and in the PCDL apps.
Other requests
To ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or raise any other privacy request, email support@pcdl.co from the address on your account. You may also have rights under the data protection law where you live, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Anyone can read the library without an account. To create a PCDL account you must be at least 13, as set out in the PCDL terms. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, email support@pcdl.co and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change what we collect or how we use it, we update this page and the date at the top. See also our Terms of Use.
